Learn More About Our Founder, Derek Davis
Derek Davis is a native of Youngstown, Ohio and a local resident of the uptown community since the early 1990’s. He holds several master degrees in the concentration of Human Resources from both Devry and Keller Graduate School of Management. Due to his love of children, in 2006, Derek became a licensed home daycare provider. Falling in love with childcare, the next year he attended The Harry S. Truman College of Early Childhood Education obtained director-qualified honors to manage his childhood educational institutions.
Since 2007, Derek has managed to open 2 additional child care locations under the company name Seeds of Joy Early Learning Centers, specializing in Education, Health, Fitness & Nutrition in the uptown community. Not only is Derek a childcare provider, he is also a father of two and is very active in his neighborhood and city as an activist and beacon of hope for underprivileged children needing early childhood education.
Mr. Davis is also a representative of local city organizations such as “The Purple Carpet Project”, an organization that raises scholarship money for minority students in fashion beauty and art. Due to his great ambition and drive, Seeds of Joy Daycare is one of the fastest growing franchises of child care educational centers in the city of Chicago.
